Our story
Libami was founded in 1987, during the civil war, out of an act of solidarity: saving a man injured by a landmine. Since that first mission our commitment has never wavered.
The Lebanese Government officially recognized Libami in 1994 (Decree-Law No. 76/AD). Today we keep working with the same determination: to provide essential support to Lebanon's most vulnerable families.
Economic and social instability keeps deepening family hardship, and the war in Southern Lebanon has added to the distress of families who were already fragile. In response, Libami has strengthened its efforts so that every child can go to school and every family gets the support it needs.

Families in these areas face overcrowded housing, an unbearable cost of living and shrinking access to basic services.

Recognized at the highest level
In March 2025 Libami's President, Vice-President and team, together with children we support, were received by the President of the Republic, His Excellency Joseph Aoun, and the First Lady, Mrs. Nehmat Aoun. It was a chance to present our work and raise awareness of the growing needs of vulnerable families.
